The goal of the 2021 Wear Red For Women Luncheon is to raise money for Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) and increase awareness of heart disease in women. All proceeds from this year's event will go towards achieving the goal of having Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) in every place people work, learn, play, or pray in Sedalia.
What is an AED? An Automated External Defibrillator is a medical device that is used on individuals suffering from sudden cardiac arrest. An AED can analyze the hearts rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electric shock to help the heart re-establish a rhythm. Cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Having an AED on site can help increase the chance of survival.
Proceeds from the 2020 Wear Red Luncheon allowed us to purchase and place 19 AED's in various locations around Sedalia. AEDs were placed in the following locations:

Liberty Center Association for the Arts

Pettis County Sheriff's Office Headquarters
